All you need to know about Summer festivals in Barcelona

summer festivals

Summer in the city is not ideal for many people, as they would like to be on some beach, lounging and sunbathing, instead of getting fried up in the heat. However, Barcelona can be a huge exception to that, as it has Barceloneta right up at her feet and getting to spend a summer there is so full of experiences and events that you would definitely love to spend a couple of months in it. There are a lot of summer festivals in Barcelona taking place between June and August and despite the coronavirus pandemic, a selection of these are available this year. There is something about everyone’s taste and you can find a lot of interesting new bands to follow afterwards.

Festival Jardins Pedralbes

In one of Barcelona’s most impressive gardens, the Jardins Pedralbes, you can find a great festival with music from every possible genre. It was first introduced nine years ago and since then, it provides a great musical experience every year, in a venue fully integrated with nature and the two Gaudi works of art there. This year, there is a wide selection of artists, such as Amaia, Manel, James Rhodes and Vanesa Martin. The concerts will take place from the 9th of June until the 24th of August and the prices start as low as 28 euros. You can find more information about the line-up and the concert dates on their website.

Festival Cruilla

One of the best summer festivals in Barcelona, The Cruilla festival, came back this year stronger than ever. It has a three-day program full of various artists, from the 8th until the 10th of July. It takes place at the Parc del Forum and the tickets can start from 65 euros (for spending just one day at the festival) and reach up to 145 euros for the whole duration of it. The Cruilla Festival is free of any movement and social distancing restrictions but if you decide to go, you will have to get an antigen test for Covid-19 before attending. You will also have to wear a protective mask during the whole concert. Some of the artists that will perform at the festival are Lagrimas de Sangre, Two Door Cinema Club, Amaral and Izal. Check their website for more information and the complete line-up.

Pride! Barcelona

Barcelona is famous for its gay-friendly atmosphere and the yearly celebration of LGBTQ rights couldn’t miss from this article. Pride 2021 will take place during the 3rd and 4th of September, with a commemorative act happening on June 28th. The big parade will be on the 4th of September as well. The theme for this year’s Pride is raising awareness and visibility of people with HIV. You can find more information about the events in Pride! Barcelona’s social media and its website.
