It’s summer time and it’s starting to be very hot in Barcelona. Also, this season te beach tends to be crowded and can, therefore, feel overwhelming. Then, how about trying out the different outdoor pools of the city and spend some quality time with your friends and family, while cooling off? We, at Erasmus Barcelona, have found the best outdoor pools in the city, have a look!

Montjuic Olympic Pool

The swimming pool of Montjuïc consists of two big ponds. She is known to have welcomed the competitions of dives of the Olympics of 1992. Since then, she opened her doors to the general public, what allows all to swim in these two mythical swimming pools overhanging the city. It is without a doubt, one of the most appreciated swimming pools in Barcelona because of its two ponds, its terrace (even though small) and its magnificent panoramic view of the city. This swimming pool is closed in winter but in summer, it is very pleasant to go there, to swim and refresh yourself while having an overlook over Barcelona.

The simplest to go there is to take the bus 55 since Plaza Cataluña. The ticket is at 5,63€ for the adults, for the children from 6 to 14 years old and for the one older than 64 years, the price is at 3,93€. Finally, for the little one (below 5 years old), the entry is free.

Club Natació Atlètic – Barceloneta

A few minutes away from the beach of Barceloneta, there is the swimming pool in the Club Natació Atlètic. The complex possesses an indoor swimming pool and two outdoor swimming pools with a view of the sea. You can swim between the corridors of the swimming pool or simply cool off while taking advantage of the view.

You can go to the Club by taking the line 4 of te metro (yellow line – stop Barceloneta). The ticket is at 12€ for adults and around 7€ for the less than 10-year-old. For more details on the prices and the activities which take place in the club, consult the page official page.

Parc de la Creueta del Coll

This swimming pool, built in 1987, is situated in the Park of the Creuta del Coll. The Lake is, without a doubt, the one which attracts the most inhabitants, especially in summer when it is converted into a swimming pool. There are also palm trees, park for children, table-tennis tables and grounds to play the basketball. The swimming pool is not deep, it is the advantage if you are going with children! Furthermore, there are banisters which allow you to enter the water little by little.

You can access the pool with the line 3 of Metro (green line – Vallcarca). It is opened every day from the end of June until the first week of September. The price for the tickets for the general public is at 2,35€; 1,10€ for the large families and free for the children of less than a year old and for the one above 65 years old.
