Tips for finding friends for life in Barcelona

Finding friends while abroad can be a bit of a challenge. If you’re in Barcelona and studying abroad as part of the Erasmus exchange program, here are some tips to help you make friends! You’ve just arrived in Barcelona and want to meet other Erasmus students? Everyone knows that making friends as an Erasmus student is hard. But it doesn’t have to be. We’re here to help you find friends for life in Barcelona and make your time here easier than ever. We want to help you with and make your time during the Erasmus program the best time in the world! Here you have some tips on what can you do to find friends for life in Barcelona.

#1 Get involved

Get involved for example with the Erasmus Student Network (ESN) or student’s companies like ours. They can help you find other students and organize events.

#2 Try to attend events

Try attending events organized by local universities or colleges, such as campus tours and open days. You’ll meet other international students and get a feel for what studying in Barcelona is like.

#3 Search for online groups and chats

If you’re not sure where to begin, try meeting people online through Facebook groups or WhatsApp groups—there are loads of them!  Remember that these groups are communities of people who already have something in common (being an exchange student), so don’t be shy about joining one if it seems like a good fit!

#4 Focus on similar intrest

The first step is to find people with similar interests. If you’re looking for friends who are also interested in sports, find out if there are any sports clubs nearby that you could join. If not, look into other activities like dance classes or concerts that might appeal to people with similar interests. The more you can narrow down your search based on shared interests, the better chance you have of finding someone who’s like-minded!

#5 Make connections with people from your classes

Another great way to meet people is by going out with groups from your class or program. Be sure to ask them questions about themselves so they know why they should get to know YOU! You might even consider going out for coffee or grabbing dinner together sometime after class so everyone gets comfortable talking with each other outside

#6 Be open-minded

The second thing is to make sure you’re open-minded when talking to new people. Try not to judge them based on their appearance or where they come from (or even what language they speak). You never know who might become a good friend someday!

#7 Local communities

Get involved in local communities! There are lots of ways you can get involved with the local community while living in Barcelona: volunteer work is one option; another is joining sports teams like basketball leagues (which are very popular among students here). But another great option is joining local organizations like churches, mosques, temples, etc.

#8 Use apps for finding friends like Bumble Friends

So what do you do when you’re trying to make new friends while also juggling your studies and working part-time jobs? You use Bumble Friends! This app matches up people who have mutual interests—and it is working amazing! It’s basically Tinder for finding people who want to meet up with other people. You can browse through all the profiles of people near you who are looking for friends and see if there are any common interests or activities that you both enjoy.
