#1 Watch your drink
Remember to always keep yours drink with you. We think that this is one of the most important things to do in club if you really want to feel safety. Better option is water in bottle or shots of vodka (of course not all night), which you can drink very fast. Never ever leave drink on table alone etc. Having you drink spiked can be the worst exprience in your life so really be careful. If you aren’t sure what your drink has been mixed with, don’t drink it. If it looks cloudy or like it’s been tampered with in any way.

#2 Keep important things hidden
Barcelona is famous because of the big amount of pickpoceters so be sure that you keep all your things with you. Never leave bag on table, look every few minutes if you have everything with you. Don’t take all your documents to clubs, take just ID with you.

#3 Get taxi or arrange a lift
Coming back in the night alone, is never a good idea for girls and for boys. Get a taxi instead of walking home alone at night—even if it costs more than usual! A cab ride is worth its weight in gold if it keeps you safe from harm after an evening out on the town with friends or family members who live far away from one another during the day but spend their nights enjoying each other’s company while drinking heavily (which can lead to bad decisions).

#4 Keep in your phone safety numbers
Make sure you have a safety number programmed into your phone before you go out. If something happens and you can’t remember it when you’re trying to call for help, having this number programmed in will make all the difference! Another tip is to make sure that if you’re going out with friends. Everyone should has each other’s safety numbers. If a situation arises where someone needs help getting home, they can call their friend immediately.

#5 Go with friends, never alone
Don’t go out alone at night. Going out in groups is the safest thing to do when traveling abroad—you can watch each other’s backs. Always go out with at least one other friend—and never leave them behind! Even if you’re just going down the street for a quick errand, make sure someone knows where you’ll be. If someone does get separated from their group, stay put until another member finds them. Don’t wander off on your own!

#6 Drink water
Drink water! Even if you’re planning on having a few drinks at the club, remember that alcohol dehydrates you. It makes it harder for your body to process all of those toxins in your system. Make sure you’re staying hydrated throughout the night so that your body can stay healthy!

#7 Listen to your intuition
Listen to your intuition. If something feels off, get out of there! There is no shame in being cautious if you don’t feel safe. Don’t be afraid to leave if you’re feeling unsafe—you deserve to have fun without being made uncomfortable by anyone else.
