What you can do to feel safe in Barcelona nightclubs?

Safety is key during a night out when people are about to go crazy for few hours. Every girl (and boy) wants to feel safe, especially in clubs full of intoxicated people. Alcohol and other substances can turn humans into animals – or vulnerable victims, moreover crowded and drak clubs are a heaven for pickpockets. Basically, clubs in Barcelona are safe, but you can never be careful enough, it’s better to be safe than sorry. We want to show you some tips, that will help you avoid some unpleasant situation and enjoy the wild nightlife in Barcelona without fear. Check out our article below on what you can do to feel safe in clubs, enjoy good music, meet new people, and party for free with Shaz Guest list without any traumatic events!

#1 Watch your drink

Remember to always hold your drink with you, keep an eye on it. We think that this is one of the most important things to do in the club if you really want to feel safe. A good option is to have something that you can drink very fast (shots). Never ever leave your drink on a table unattended. Having your drink spiked can be the worst exprience in your life so be really careful. If you aren’t sure what your drink has been mixed with, don’t drink it. If it looks cloudy or like it’s been tampered be suspicious and order a new drink just to be sure.

#2 Keep important things hidden

Barcelona is famous for the big amount of its pickpocets so be sure that you keep all your belongings with you. Never leave your bag on the table, floor or hanging on the chair behind of you, don’t forget to have a look often if you still have everything with you. Try not to show your expensive phone (or any phone really) too much, only when it’s necessary. Do not wear expensive watches or jewellery that may catch the criminals’ attention! Have a bag that has a zip, and always keep it in front of you, never throw it behind your back! Don’t take all your documents to clubs, it’s best to take only the very necesary things like ID.

#3 Get a taxi or arrange a lift

Coming back home at night alone, is never a good idea for girls (but for boys either). Get a taxi instead of walking home alone at night—even if it costs more than usual! A cab ride is worth its weight in gold if it keeps you safe from harm after a night out especially if you had a drink or two.

#4 Keep safety numbers in your phone

Make sure you have a safety number programmed into your phone before you go out. If something happens and you’re trying to call for help, having this number programmed in your phone will make a huge difference! Another tip is to make sure that if you’re going out with friends, everyone has each other’s numbers as safety numbers. If one of you will get in a suspicious or even dangerous situation, access to a friend’s immadiate help can be life saver.
In case something unfortunate happens or you feel unsafe and you happen to be alone, do not hesitate to contact the auhorities!

#5 Go with friends, never alone

Don’t go out alone at night. Going out in groups is the safest thing to do when being abroad—you can have each other’s backs. Always go out with at least one friend—and never leave each other behind! Even if you’re just going down the street for a quick errand, make sure someone knows where you’ll be. If someone does get separated from their group, make sure you find the lost person asap. Don’t wander off on your own!

#6 Drink water

Drink water! Even if you’re planning on having a few drinks at the club, remember that alcohol dehydrates you. It makes it harder for your body to process all of those toxins in your system. Make sure you stay hydrated throughout the night in order to avoid blackouts or ugly hangovers! It is also key to maintain a bit of sobriety in case you get into a doubtful situation with strangers.

#7 Listen to your intuition

Listen to your intuition. If something feels off, get out of there! There is no shame in being cautious if you don’t feel safe. Don’t be afraid  or feel embarrassed to leave or to say no any given time—you deserve to have fun without being made uncomfortable by anyone else.

#8 Have fun and enjoy Barcelona nightlife in a smart way

Have fun, but do it with responsibility! The best way to make sure that everyone has a great time is by taking care of each other. Also it is important not to overconsume alcohol or other substances that cloud judgment and make people more vulnerable to predators.
